Floating in a light wood frame, sections of organic orange and pink paper shapes are carved with grass-like textures. In the distance, a red paper barn sits on a shore by a blue lake, where hazy pink hills are visible on the horizon. The scene is punctuated by layers of green brush and strands of blue grasses. The entire piece sits against a white fur, which accentuates the movements of the grasses in the artwork. A closeup of the red barn showcases the white trim and the fine detailing of the grasses. An alternate frame sets the artwork against a burgundy background against a white wall.
I.

Inspired by a day trip from almost one year ago.

I initially wasn’t sure how best to capture all of the floral textures, but slowly carving away at the paper resulted in a pleasing pattern.
