An orange two-story house of paper stands surrounded by palm trees and colorful ground cover underneath a blue paper sky with wispy white clouds. An angled detail view of the artwork exposes the texture of grasses, the architectural details of the house, and the thread stretched between telephone poles. The artwork stands framed on an old wooden floor against a backdrop of plants and dark wood furniture.
I.

Late last year, I was in Sacramento for a birding trip, but it was really rainy and windy and there weren’t many birds.

We passed by this large house next to a row of palm trees, just sitting on the edge of the road, skirted by parking lots and marshland. I thought it might appreciate a more colorful and blue sky type of day.
