A red schoolhouse with a gray-roofed turret perches on a hill at the edge of a forest. Hills in varying shades of green expand from its walls under a bright white sky. A crop of the artwork shows the red schoolhouse amongst abstracted hills and trees. An angled close-up view of the schoolhouse shows layers of paper architectural details, including siding, beams, and roof trim. Tiny white stitches and grass-like patterns decorate the hill in the foreground.
I.

I wish I could give all of the children in the world a paradise, a place where they could learn, laugh, play, and grow without fear. It’d be far away from the senseless violence, racial profiling, and toxic class schisms of adults. There’d be no place for hate. They’d be surrounded by the richness of nature and learn to reconnect with the earth.
